wrap up

been awhile hasnt it?

ive been a very bad blogger. my excuse? life kinda got in the way.

between supermarket/target/home depot runs, trips to doggie daycare, laundry, dishes and NCIS reruns, blogging became less and less of a priority.

but by golly did i miss it!

to get everybody somewhat up to speed, here are a few key events the past 20 months:

• jack and i are still together. he still like me and i still like him. murphy loves him almost as much as i do.
• i got a promotion at work. i now have the word manager in my job title. which only means i get thrown in the bus by scarier executives now.
• i am in my last year of my 20s. in less than a month, i will be 30.
• JD got married.
• TGG and i have not spoken in almost a year now. long story.
• jack has finally met my family, my grandmother included. and the verdict? she adored him!
• i saw britney spears in concert - it was fantastic!
  
• i am trying to lose weight - especially since i bought birthday dress that cannot fit me at the moment.
• i am now officially a redneck - i follow NASCAR like a fiend. Go Carl! :)

work has been kicking my ass lately. EOQ is finally over. sort of. there is still a ton of paperwork to do but right now, i am enjoying a very lazy sunday. and to celebrate, i decided on doing a meme. which i miss doing since ive gone MIA here in blogger-land.

365 days-ish

today marks (well, approximately) one year since jack and i started dating.

a lot has happened the past year. and condensing them to a single top ten list will not do the highlights justice. but that doesnt mean i cannot give it the ole college try.

and this is in no particular order.

• laying on the grass in front of the capitol, watching the clouds go by. if that was not an indication on how much comfortable we are with each other, im not sure what is.
• spending the holidays with his family and being embraced by such a loving and wonderful circle.
• the toys we seem to be accumulating at record speed. from marbles, to jigsaw puzzles, video games, roller coaster models and tons of bouncy balls!
• the amount of sheer bliss on his face every time i make his favorite white pasta dish. which is a weekly staple to our dinner menu, by the way...
• our first kiss.
• the concerts we've seen. norah jones, the violent femmes, the prodigals & gaelic storm, and as of last night, the indigo girls. and i am hoping to continue with tradition; we're planning on seeing john butler trio in november.
• watching the NASCAR truck race and the INDY car race in one weekend.
• my vegas birthday celebration.
• that magical night in DC with norah playing in the background.
• our valentine's day picnic.

but i must say, the highlight of the past year is waking up next to the man who makes me happy. every morning. i could only hope that i can make him as happy as he makes me.

we'll be celebrating in st. louis this weekend. see the arch, go to the anheuser-busch tour, see the science museum. play tourist.

i hope that you are with the person/people you love this weekend. cause i will.

jack and i spent monday night listening to the gorgeous norah jones. if youve been reading me for a whole now, you might have noticed that miss jones' music has played a part in my posts. so you can just imagine the giddyness i felt during the whole show. and the best part? spending it with jack.

i was a little disappointed that she didnt play my absolute favorite song, turn me on, but i must say that she is now one of my very few girl crushes. i think jack has a little crush on her too.

we agreed that if we ever pick out "our" song, it has got to be, without a doubt, one of norah's songs. if i had my druthers, i think this would be the one...
